Wrong turn makes Air India, IndiGo planes come face to face at Ahmedabad airport taxiway

  • Both A320s came to a halt at a safe distance of around 200 metres from each other after air traffic authorities instructed the IndiGo aircraft to stop, successfully preventing a collision.
  • Air India stated, "There was no compromise on the safety of passengers and crew," while the IndiGo flight was briefly delayed before eventually departing for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai.
  • The airline added, "The matter has been reported to the regulatory authorities and an investigation initiated," as airport authorities towed the Air India aircraft to its designated bay.
