Berlin's SPD Group proposes to name Skalitzer Straße in Kreuzberg after the recently deceased Holocaust survivors. However, there is also a counterproposal.

Since Margot Friedländer's death, there has been a demand to name a street in the capital after the Holocaust survivors. The Berlin SPD Group is now in favour.

District Mayor Clara Herrmann calls on the Senate to allow a debate on a worthy commemoration of Margot Friedländer. Meanwhile, the SPD requests a renaming of Skalitzer Straße.

"Skalická Street would be a good place to name after Margot Friedländer and commemorate her," said Clara Herrmann, the mayor of Berlin's Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, from the Green Party, in response to the proposal.
