- On Monday, San Diego State announced Stephen Strasburg rejoined the baseball team as special assistant to head coach Kevin Vance and will support fundraising and alumni relations on The Mesa.
- As a returning alumnus, Strasburg returns to give back to his alma mater as a San Diego native and proud Aztec, mentoring and assisting pitching development for current SDSU student-athletes on The Mesa.
- As an Aztec, Strasburg set SDSU baseball program strikeout records with 23 in a game, 195 in a season, 375 for a career, and was a three-time Major League Baseball All-Star.
