Family Embraces Culture, Tradition in Hunt for World Cup Stickers
The family is 30 stickers short as collectors trade online and across New Hampshire to finish Panini’s 980-sticker album.
Seven-Year-Old Michael O'Sullivan and his parents, Ronan and Tilly, are nearing completion of their 980-sticker Panini World Cup Sticker Collection in Brookline, New Hampshire, with the challenge intensified by the tournament's expansion to 48 teams.
To manage the influx of stickers, the family uses a precise system: Michael opens packs and sorts by team, Ronan checks numbers, and Tilly handles final stickering and duplicate verification.
Needing 30 more stickers to finish, the O'Sullivans have traveled across New Hampshire, meeting collectors from Concord, Manchester, and Nashua to swap duplicates and help complete their set.
Cultural goals drive the family's hobby; Tilly said, "We want him to learn about Mexico. We want him to learn about Ireland."
Panini spokesperson Jason Howarth said, "People just love that enjoyment when they open that pack," noting the tradition's enduring appeal across every World Cup.
