The work supporting the balconies and galleries of two large apartment buildings in Zeist is progressing well, reports Martin Bannink, technical director of A1 BetonOnderhoud, the specialist contractor. The balconies and balustrades are supported by metal posts, known as braces. Last week, research by the housing association Woongroen revealed that the reinforcement in the gallery and balcony slabs does not fully comply with building regulations.
