Worcester man who filmed himself sexually abusing children gets three decades in prison, feds say

Antonio Merced received a 30-year federal prison sentence plus lifetime supervised release for producing and possessing child sexual abuse material, consecutive to his state sentence.

  • On Thursday, Antonio Merced, 29, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison followed by lifetime supervised release for sexually abusing three children, including a 6-year-old girl, U.S. District Court Judge Margaret Guzman announced.
  • Investigators discovered the crimes after finding documentation of abuse in 2023 and videos from 2024 showing Merced sexually assaulting the minors, prompting his arrest in September 2024.
  • At his July 2025 plea hearing, Merced admitted to using three minors to create sexually explicit videos and possessing hundreds of photos and videos of child sex abuse material, pleading guilty to three counts of sexual exploitation and one count of possession.
  • The 30-year federal sentence will run consecutive to Merced's existing 25 to 30 year state prison term following his February 2026 guilty plea in Worcester Superior Court to ten counts of child rape and related offenses.
  • Merced will serve both sentences concurrently, meaning his federal term runs simultaneously with his state sentence, and he faces lifetime supervised release upon eventual release from prison.
