Police arrested a 27-year-old man Thursday on suspicion of attempted murder after the stabbing of a 21-year-old woman in Chitose on Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido, police said.
At around 9:10 p.m. on the 4th, a passerby called 119 reporting "a man with a knife" on a street in Shinano 2-chome, Chitose City, Hokkaido. According to the city fire department, one woman was stabbed and is in cardiac arrest, and two men were also injured and taken to the hospital. The Hokkaido Prefectural Police apprehended the man on the spot.
