Woman Killed After Car Crashes Into Australian Cafe
Police are investigating after a car crashed into a cafe, killing a woman and sending the driver and passenger to hospital.
On Monday, a woman died after a car crashed into outdoor seating at the Martini cafe in Westfield Knox, Wantirna South, with emergency services responding shortly after noon.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the crash, though Victoria Police stated they do not believe the incident was intentional, with the vehicle identified as a Tesla.
A second cafe patron was treated by paramedics at the scene, while the driver and passenger were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries; the victim remains formally unidentified.
Martini posted on Facebook that the premises would be "temporarily closed until further notice" due to "an accident," apologizing for the inconvenience and requesting understanding.
