Woman Charged with Murdering Her Own Sister in Texas, Court Records Show
Investigators say text messages on Alaya Jones’ phone showed a plan to kill Aveyia Webb and take her belongings.
- On Thursday, authorities arrested Alaya Jones, 20, and her partner, Kaleb Maglott, charging both with capital murder in the death of Aveyia Webb, 27, found dead in her west Houston apartment.
- Investigators discovered text messages on Jones' phone indicating the pair planned the robbery in Florida, with messages stating they would 'Kill Aveyia and take her stuff.'
- Concerns grew among relatives when Webb stopped responding, prompting her aunt Beverly Hobbs to check the 8100 block of Richmond Avenue, where Hobbs discovered the victim dead on the couch.
- Family members reported the pair stole Webb's vehicle and wallet, leading aunt Edie Smith-Anderson to say, 'We would have never thought we had to protect her from her own little sister.'
- Webb worked as a hairstylist and was preparing for pharmacy school, described by friend Rosie Hart as 'a very positive light' with a promising future that was cut short by her own family.
