Nashua Woman Charged with Negligent Homicide in Connection with Teen's Death at Lake Winnipesaukee
Buffy Ann Doyle faces felony negligent homicide and related charges after police said she gave the teen alcohol before he entered the lake.
A Nashua grand jury indicted 50-year-old Buffy Ann Doyle on charges of felony negligent homicide, witness tampering, and falsifying physical evidence in connection with a 17-year-old boy's drowning last year in Lake Winnipesaukee.
On June 20, 2025, the teenager entered the water from a boat in the 'Broads' area near Diamond Island and Rattlesnake Island after attempting to retrieve a bag that fell overboard.
Police allege Doyle caused the boy's death by negligently providing him alcohol and allowing him to enter the lake while intoxicated, amid reports of rough water conditions stirred by high winds.
During her arraignment Tuesday in Belknap County Superior Court, Doyle pleaded not guilty to all four charges and is scheduled to appear in court again on June 26.
The New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit led the investigation with assistance from Marine Patrol and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department following the teen's recovery last summer.
