18-Year-Old Arrested for Shooting, Killing Sister in Thornton, NH
Authorities say Logan Anderson, 18, was arrested after his sister died from a gunshot wound, and he is set for arraignment Tuesday.
On Monday, June 8, 2026, authorities arrested 18-year-old Logan Anderson in Thornton, New Hampshire, charging him with second-degree murder for shooting his 21-year-old sister, Leah Anderson.
Police responded to a 911 call on Mad River Road at 8:20 a.m. Monday, where officers found Leah suffering from a gunshot wound to the head; she later died at a hospital.
A student at Plymouth State University, Leah was majoring in elementary education and youth development, with Plymouth State University President Donald Birx noting her "caring nature" and "warmth."
Logan is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at the 2nd Circuit District Court in Plymouth, while an autopsy is set for Wednesday according to the New Hampshire Department of Justice.
The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office stated there is no ongoing community danger as the investigation continues, while neighbor Karl Bewersdorf described the family as "very nice people.
