With Sharp Eye for Strike Zone, Catcher Hunter Goodman Powers Rockies and Wins ABS Challenges
Goodman has 27 homers before the All-Star break and ranks fifth among catchers with 45 ABS challenge wins.
Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman reached 27 home runs this season, tying Hall of Famer Larry Walker's 2001 record for the most by a Rockies player before the All-Star break.
Last month, Goodman hit 13 home runs, the most in the majors, becoming just the second Rockies player to reach that total in a single calendar month, joining Troy Tulowitzki.
Beyond his swing, Goodman has excelled with ABS challenges, recording 45 successful wins—fifth most among catchers—including 15 instances of flipping a called ball into a strike.
In Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins in Denver, Goodman hit a two-run home run, with 10 games remaining before the All-Star Game for the Colorado Rockies.
After winning a Silver Slugger Award last year, Goodman is building a strong case to return to the All-Star Game with a.243 average and 50 RBIs.
