Star Bombers Quarterback Collaros to Miss Game Against Visiting Argos
Dru Brown is expected to start after Zach Collaros missed Wednesday practice with a neck injury, and the Bombers kept their quarterback plan closed.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers star quarterback Zach Collaros will miss Friday's game against the Toronto Argonauts with a neck injury, with recent acquisition Dru Brown set to start.
Collaros sustained the injury during the second quarter of Winnipeg's 14-13 win at Hamilton on Sunday, leaving the game after taking a blindside hit.
Despite having just one practice this week, Brown previously spent two seasons under Bombers offensive coordinator Tommy Condell while with the Ottawa RedBlacks.
The Bombers listed seven players on their injury report, with offensive lineman Tui Eli questionable and five others including wide receiver Kevens Clercius ruled out for Friday.
Canadian Taylor Elgersma, who led the Bombers to victory in relief of Collaros last Sunday, will serve as backup quarterback for the matchup against the Argos.
