On Saturday, Tulsa defeated East Texas A&M 42-0, with quarterback Dexter Williams throwing for 164 yards and three touchdowns while Trequan Jones returned a kickoff 98 yards for a score.
The Golden Hurricane achieved their first shutout since Oct. 26, 2002, when they defeated UTEP 20-0, marking a significant defensive milestone for the program.
Oran Singleton, Donnell Gee, Jackson Shockley, Damari Alston, and Seth Davis all recorded touchdowns, with the offense scoring on five of their 12 drives throughout the game.
Defensively, Tulsa forced two turnovers on downs and seven punts while Zane Woodham, Sam Stone, Thomas Davis, and Chris Thompson each recorded one sack; Carter Langenderfer added an interception.
Tulsa travels to Arkansas next Saturday, while the Lions, who saw Major McBride rush for 53 yards, face McNeese State the same day.
