The State government on Tuesday gave an undertaking to the High Court of Karnataka that it would place before the court the award to be passed in respect of land notified for acquisition for the contentious Bidadi Integrated Township Project before enforcing the award.
Amidst rumours that the High Court has put a stop to the Bidadi Township project, it has been clarified that there is no general stay on the land acquisition process. However, only the lands of the farmers who have filed the writ petition have separate legal protection. It has been ordered that the authority should prepare a compensation award and submit it to the High Court.
