In Nancy, France and Poland seal an anti-Poutine partnership

Both strong defenders of the EU, Emmanuel Macron and Donald Tusk will sign this May 9 in Nancy a friendship treaty strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

— I doubt that the Treaty of Nancy will directly mention French nuclear weapons as a kind of guarantee for Poland, but signing this document is a signal to Russia that playing with Poland's security may cost it much more than it seems — says Paweł Zerka, an expert from the Paris office of the European Council on Foreign Relations.

Poland and France are due to sign a major bilateral treaty on 9 May, focusing on security and defence issues. The Polish weekly newspaper Tygodnik Powszechny is interested in the rapprochement of these two allies, now aligned on the Ukrainian file.
