'We’ve Delivered a Strong Third Quarter': Wickes Reveals Accelerating Sales Growth
Wickes said stronger volumes and market share gains lifted retail sales 6% as mild price inflation returned and it stayed on track for profit guidance.

Total group sales climbed 4.5% to £439 million for the three months to September 26, accelerating from 2.3% growth in the previous quarter as customers grappled with higher mortgage rates and inflation.
Retail sales jumped 6% to £331 million, bolstered by an 8% increase in TradePro business, while Wickes opened two new stores in Saffron Walden, Essex, and Colne, Lancashire, alongside three refits.
Although sales in the Design and Installation business remained flat as customers hesitated on big-ticket purchases, Wickes boss David Wood reiterated the company's forecast for about 10% growth in adjusted pretax profit for 2026.
AJ Bell investment director Russ Mould described the update as resilient, noting the company's strategy of targeting trade customers provides "a more reliable and consistent source of revenue than ordinary punters.
