The panel explored cultural care and representation as TV One highlighted series centered on Black communities and the next wave of true crime storytellers.
The American Black Film Festival Pop-Up Tour arrived in Washington for the first time, hosting a three-day experience at the Angelika Pop-Up at Union Market from Sept. 25-27. TV One presented a panel exploring Black true crime storytelling.

Panelists explored the necessity of cultural context in true crime, emphasizing representation on both sides of the camera. TV One highlighted its focus on Black communities through hit series including ATL Homicide and Fatal Attraction.
Beyond the panel, attendees watched screenings including the Grand Jury Prize-winning Three Colors: Pan-African and Black is Beautiful: The Kwame Brathwaite Story. Actor Taye Diggs participated in a Brown Sugar screening alongside stars like Coco Jones.
The ABFF Pop-Up Tour continues its national run, with upcoming stops scheduled in New York City, Atlanta, and Houston. Fans can also view additional true crime content on TV One's True Crime Mondays.
