- On Saturday, acclaimed Russian director Andrey Zvyagintsev won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival for Minotaur, using his acceptance speech to urge President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine.
- Set against the backdrop of Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, the film marks the first project in nine years from the director of Leviathan and Loveless, depicting a businessman facing marital and military pressures.

- Following its Cannes success, Minotaur will compete at the Sydney Film Festival, with the Australian premiere scheduled for June 12.
