Why Ricciardo would consider a comeback at Le Mans
On Wednesday, Daniel Ricciardo reflected on his 2024 departure from Racing Bulls during a Beyond The Grid podcast interview, candidly discussing the "failure and humiliation" he experienced after leaving Formula 1.
Ricciardo struggled to accept his career ended before the 2024 season concluded, describing a "sense of humiliation" after realizing he could no longer perform at his previous level following the Singapore Grand Prix.
Despite his public smile, the Australian driver admitted to concealing "a lot of pain and sadness," spending months hiding his emotions while coping with the sudden transition from elite motorsport competition.
Reflecting on his 14-season career, which included eight Grand Prix victories and 32 podiums, Ricciardo now feels "extremely proud" of his achievements and has rebuilt his perspective on life after racing.
Serving as a Global Ambassador for Ford Racing, the 37-year-old says he is more open to the thought of returning behind the wheel, seeking "a nicer ending" to his story.
