Today, March 25, Belarusians around the world celebrate the day of the Declaration of Independence of the Belarusian People's Republic — Freedom Day. March 25, 1918 is the date when the independent national Belarusian state first appeared. Although the state existed for less than a year, this day plays a significant role in the modern identity of Belarusians and is a symbol of the struggle for freedom.
