Pope Leo XIV accepted, Saturday, May 2, 2026, the resignation of Bishop Paolo Pezzi, archbishop since 2007 of the diocese of the Mother of God in Moscow. The reasons for his departure were not specified. To ensure the transition, the Holy See appointed his auxiliary, Bishop Nikolai Dubinine, apostolic administrator.
