Why Adam Sandler called the police 2 days after Taylor Swift's wedding
On Sunday, July 5, actor Adam Sandler, 59, contacted the Nantucket Police Department to inquire about local pickup basketball courts, public safety dispatcher Chris Reynolds told the Nantucket Current.
Sandler's request came roughly 48 hours after he officiated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's high-profile wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Following the police inquiry, Sandler joined teenagers at a basketball court off Backus Lane on the Massachusetts island, where he participated in a pickup game and posed for pictures.
Teen player Andrew Kesler praised Sandler's performance, telling the Current he displayed "great passing and playmaking," though he hesitated to shoot the ball.
The "Grown Ups" star is a well-documented basketball enthusiast, frequently spotted hooping at courts over the years, including in sweltering heat hours before officiating Swift and Kelce's ceremony on July 3.
The popular actor and comedian was in charge of the wedding of the pop star. It has to do with being close to the couple, especially Travis Kelce. According to a source to People magazine when the idea was proposed he said “yes right away.”
The actor starred in an unexpected episode during his recent stay on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts, where he decided to devote part of his free time to one of his favorite activities: playing basketball.
