For the past three years, the association "Eau et Rivières de Bretagne" has been mapping the health quality of the water of the bathable beaches on the French coast. The edition 2026 has just released and placed 21 Breton sites in the category "to be avoided". An assessment contested by some municipalities, such as that of Saint-Malo, two of which are in the red zone of the classification.
