At around 8:40 pm on the 1st, a call was made to 110 reporting that a train had collided with a person at a JR railway crossing in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. According to the prefectural police, one person was confirmed dead after the collision with the train. The prefectural police are investigating, believing that the person was likely a wheelchair user.
