What to Know About Selma Blair's Alleged Plane Incident and What's Next
The actress pleaded not guilty after two flight attendants, a police officer and a nurse reported injuries, and the FBI is investigating.
On Sunday, October 11, 'Legally Blonde' actor Selma Blair was arrested after a disturbance on Delta Flight 938 from Los Angeles to New York, where law enforcement sources allege she assaulted two flight attendants.
Defense attorney Shawn Barnes stated in court that Blair experienced a 'state of severe confusion and disorientation' after missing medication for multiple sclerosis and Parkinsonism, combined with a head injury during the flight.
According to court documents, Blair allegedly removed her leg from stretcher straps while being transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, kicking a police officer and a nurse and causing 'substantial pain.'
During her Monday arraignment in Queens, Blair pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault; the judge set bail at $20,000 cash or $60,000 bond, adjourning the case until January 19, 2027.
The FBI issued a federal summons regarding the flight incident, while Delta Airlines stated it has 'zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior' as the safety of customers and crew remains the priority.
