Liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals covered 8% of total gas imports from Germany in the first half of the year, a level similar to last year. According to the media, representatives of the energy sector have expressed concern that the increase in the share of LNG may lead to a decrease in gas storage levels due to the lack of incentives for storage operators.


In the underground reservoirs there is extremely little natural gas for the next winter. This also has to do with laxer specifications of the new federal government. Storage operators warn of bottlenecks at really cold temperatures.
