In full war with Russia for more than four years, Ukraine has been facing serious problems with regard to the military procurement system. According to secret government audits cited by The New York Times, only in 2024 Kiev lost about $1.2 billion due to fraud and waste, but despite evidence of problems, the state continued to grant contracts to suppliers with problems.
