- After the 14-year-old victim disclosed multiple incidents during a forensic interview on March 18, Deputy Sheriff Darrell Norris requested her father call Duggar under officer supervision as a pretext call to elicit incriminating statements.
- The alleged victim claimed Duggar repeatedly "grazed vagina" with his hand while covering them with a blanket and pulling up her dress during the 2020 Panama City Beach vacation; she described feeling uncomfortable and confused.
- Following Duggar's alleged admissions, a judge issued an arrest warrant and he was taken into custody on March 19, charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and conduct by a person 18 or older.
- Brother Jason Duggar, 25, stated the family was "completely shocked, confused, and grieved," while Josh Duggar, serving a 12-year sentence for child sexual abuse material crimes, called the allegations "false accusations can destroy a life." On March 20, Joseph faced additional Arkansas charges for endangering a minor.
