What Ja Morant Said About His First Game Against the Grizzlies Thursday Night
- On Thursday, Portland Trail Blazers guard Ja Morant faces the Memphis Grizzlies for the first time since his trade, stating, "I'm cool with everybody over there."
- Morant's tenure in Memphis ended following injuries, suspensions, and friction with head coach Tuomas Iisalo, leading to a June 29 trade that sent him to Portland for forwards Jerami Grant and Kris Murray.
- Portland remains undefeated at 3-0, with Morant averaging 16.3 points on 58.8 percent shooting, while Memphis enters the contest 4-0 following their own roster reset.
- "A fresh start is always good," Morant told reporters Wednesday, noting he feels less pressure now than he did in Memphis with his new supporting cast.
- The matchup at Moda Center is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, marking Morant's first reunion with his former franchise after seven seasons in Memphis.
