The field operated by Israeli Navitas Petroleum and British Rockhopper Exploration made its final investment decision in December 2025 and previews the first crude oil by March 2028. It is four phases of drilling, 61 underwater wells and an investment of USD 3.9 billion to 30 years, on an area that Argentina claims as its own.
Located 450 metres deep in the South Atlantic Ocean and about 220 kilometres north of the archipelago, the site was discovered in May 2010.
