Over 34% of respondents believe that Karol Nawrocki, by refusing to accept the oath of office from four judges, is escalating the conflict surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal. However, as many as 25% believe that all the main actors are equally to blame for the crisis.
Until the competence dispute is resolved by the Constitutional Tribunal, the President will not make any decision, said the President's spokesman, Rafał Leśkiewicz, referring to the four Constitutional Tribunal judges elected by the Sejm, who were not sworn in by the Head of State.
The president's behavior may surprise only politicians, the judicial caste, and the media. Perhaps they are the only ones unaware of the pathological, ragtag state they built after 1989.
