Global electricity consumption continues to rise. Although the current increase is lower than last year, it still significantly exceeds the figures for the previous decade. Demand is primarily met by renewable energy sources, nuclear power plants, and gas plants. Coal is expected to displace coal as the largest global energy source by 2026 at the latest.
