‘Well-deserved’: Zappala Block joins state’s Historic Business Preservation Registry

RENSSELAER, N.Y. — Zappala Block has been added to the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry. The masonry fabrication company was founded in 1922 by Italian immigrant Salvatore Zappala. Zappala worked two jobs to save money for a parcel of land where he could build a home for his family.
