Weakened by death threats: "No longer the fearless girl with the strong voice"

Najmo Fiyasko Finnbogadóttir, an Icelandic-Somali activist and former social media star, has taken a break from fighting for improved rights for girls and women in Somalia after receiving countless death threats. Najmo now lives in Somalia, where she fled at the age of 13. She says that the long-term stress caused by the fear of the threats ultimately broke her. "I lost my bearings and just wanted to get home to my mother."
