- PARIS, Jan 23 — The European Commission is deploying 447 emergency generators worth 3.7 million euros from EU strategic reserves for Ukraine, Lahbib said, with the shipment on its way.
- After temperatures dipped to minus 20C, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared an energy emergency last week, with about 4,000 buildings in Kyiv still without heat and nearly 60% without electricity, Zelenskyy said.
