'We Need Courage': Senator's Plea After Girl's Death
Price said multiple warnings were ignored and accused child protection agencies of failing vulnerable Aboriginal children after the five-year-old’s death.
On Tuesday, Northern Territory Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price broke down in the Senate, blaming a culture of silence and systemic child protection failures for the death of her five-year-old niece, Kumanjayi Little Baby.
Senator Price argued that "multiple warnings were made in regard to her safety" but were ignored, accusing systems of prioritizing "cultural sensitivities and political correctness ahead of the safety of children."
