“We are being robbed to feed other projects”: inhabitants of a famous village fighting for their autonomy after the inter-municipal merger

In Aveyron, the village of Conques, one of the most beautiful villages in France, has been part of the new town of Conques-en-Rouergue since 2016, which has merged four neighboring villages. But residents, formed as an association, have just filed a second petition with the prefecture to demand the detachment of the village, and regain their administrative autonomy.
