The teachers on strike in the West Contra Costa Unified School District announced Wednesday morning that they had reached a preliminary agreement to return to the classrooms. According to the teachers’ union, both sides reached an agreement early on Wednesday after a long negotiating session. Wednesday will be an optional day for the preparation of classes, and teachers and students will resume the full schedule on Thursday, the union said.
