WAYNE — The Wayne County Board of Education has begun planning and prioritizing its budget for next year as the district faces a large funding shortfall. As of the board’s Oct. 28 meeting, Superintendent Todd Alexander said the district is expecting a state-aid funding loss of about $1.5 million going into the 2026-27 school year.
