According to information published by the Russian media, Moscow was attacked by drones on the night of December 15, the explosions were heard. Russian capital Prime Minister Sergei Sobianin stated that Russian air defence would be awarded 15 drones.

Russian air defenses shot down 18 drones targeting Moscow overnight on Monday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said, according to the BBC Russian service. Authorities in other parts of Russia also reported shooting down enemy drones, with the Russian Defense Ministry saying the military destroyed most of them over the Astrakhan region. Ukraine has been fighting an invasion of its territory by Russian forces for four years.
