Water Leak Woes Continue at Montana State Prison

- The Montana National Guard delivered 15,000 gallons Saturday, supporting water needs for approximately 1,600 inmates receiving seven bottles each per day.
- Inmates reported they have gone without showers since Thursday, the department received 50 portable toilets Friday and is ordering portable showers while families called the situation a crisis due to overflowing toilets and canceled visits.
- Sletten Construction and a Missoula leak‑detection consultant are assisting with repairs while Montana National Guard soldiers remain onsite through the weekend to support water deliveries.
