Washington Wizards fans at watch party cheer on as team picks 6th, 18th in NBA Draft

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, JUN 26 – The Wizards selected 19-year-old Texas guard Tre Johnson to lead their backcourt rebuild after trading key players, citing his 19.9 points per game last season as a key asset.

Washington is hoping for a Wiz of a night during the NBA Draft on Wednesday. That’s when they have the sixth and 18th picks. Washington last had the No. 6 pick in 2011 when they picked Czech power forward Jan Veselý. Last year, the team picked power forward Alex Sarr, point guard Bub Carrington and shooting guard Kyshawn George with three first-round picks. The Wizards picked University of Texas shooting guard Tre Johnson, 19, as the No. 6 pick.…
