War in Ukraine: Zelensky Accuses Moscow of Having Handed over Bodies of Russian Troops to Kiev Instead of Ukrainian Soldiers
- On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv received 20 Russian soldiers' bodies instead of Ukrainian ones during war dead exchanges with Moscow.
- The exchanges followed agreements between Ukraine and Russia reached during two rounds of talks in Istanbul earlier this month to swap 6,000 bodies each.
- Zelensky accused Russia of 'not checking' the bodies sent and suggested Moscow might deliberately conflate numbers to obscure losses, while Russia denies errors.
- Ukraine's General Staff reported over 1,010,000 Russian casualties including killed and wounded, and Zelensky noted Putin fears admitting true losses to the Russian public.
- These developments highlight the conflict's heavy toll and coincide with Ukraine's request for 0.25 percent of partner GDP to support its domestic defense production.

Russia has sent to Ukraine at least 20 of its soldiers who have died in recent Ukrainian exchanges and has added that this is the result of the disorganization of Moscow in the wake of the major exchanges of wounded and left war prisoners, announced Volodimir Zelenski. Among the deaths received from Ukraine is an Israeli citizen.
Among these 20 bodies, "there is, for example, an Israeli mercenary fighting on their side, an Israeli citizen, with Israeli papers," said the Ukrainian president on Saturday.
