A Kremlin official confirms that U.S.-brokered Russia-Ukraine talks are resuming this week
A new round of U.S.-brokered talks on ending Russia’s war on Ukraine is set to go ahead this week. A senior Kremlin official said Monday that negotiations will take place Wednesday and Thursday in Abu Dhabi.
The second trilateral round on Ukraine, mid-United States, will start Wednesday at Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, announced the month's Kremlin.
The resumption of discussions was initially scheduled for Sunday. Dmitri Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, explained this change by the need to harmonize the agendas of the three parties. Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday the date of these new trilateral meetings.
The first round of the talks in the United Arab Emirates had taken place on 23 and 24 January, but had not resulted in a diplomatic breakthrough; the second round was supposed to take place on 1 February.
