In the Sudan, fierce fighting has been taking place for several days between the regular army and the paramilitaries of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the three states of Kordofan: Northern Kordofan, Southern Kordofan and Western Kordofan. The army has launched its most important offensive in three months in this southern region. It claims to have recovered strategic localities that had passed into the hands of the SRF, which deny any setback.
