Walmart+ and Sam's Club Launch New Joint Membership Option
The new bundle gives shoppers access to both memberships for nearly $100 less than buying them separately, as Walmart seeks more value-driven sales.
On Tuesday, Walmart launched a $120-a-year bundle combining Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus memberships, delivering savings of nearly $100 compared to purchasing both subscriptions separately.
Walmart is betting on convenience to drive sales as consumers face pressure from high gas and food prices, competing with rivals like Target and Kroger for budget-conscious shoppers.
Members gain access to Sam's Club warehouses, free delivery from both retailers, gas savings of 10 cents per gallon at 17,000 stations, and a choice between Peacock or Paramount+ streaming plus 2% Sam's Cash on eligible purchases.
Existing customers can link accounts for the discount, while U.S. field associates receive the bundle free; annual Walmart+ members can upgrade for $22 extra, and current Sam's Club Plus members get Walmart+ at no additional cost.
The bundle positions Walmart to compete with Amazon Prime, which costs $139 annually, as the retailer reported 17% global membership revenue growth and record net additions during its fiscal second quarter.
