Walkers discontinues classic crisps after 50 years leaving fans 'devastated'
Walkers ended production of Snaps Spicy Tomato and other flavors to focus on popular brands, marking the end of a 50-year legacy in the UK snack market.
Walkers has announced it has discontinued Snaps Spicy Tomato crisps after more than 50 years on United Kingdom shelves, leaving fans devastated.
Walkers said the move will free capacity to focus on other brands and flavours people prefer, amid other product cuts including Prawn Cocktail Quavers and Max Pizza Hut Texan BBQ.
As part of Walkers' portfolio, Snaps were first introduced under Smith's, later rebranded under Walkers while remaining owned by PepsiCo, which also manages Wotsits, Quavers, and Monster Munch.
Across social platforms, one user tweeted 'Are snaps being discontinued?' after Walkers said they are ending Snaps Spicy Tomato, with fans expressing devastation.
Amid discontinuations, Walkers is promoting several new limited-edition 2025 flavours, including seasonal releases and gingerbread Doritos, reshaping its range while removing long-standing items.
