WALKER, MINNESOTA, AUG 9 – The suspect threatened employees and charged at an officer despite commands to drop the knife, leading to a single shot wound to his arm, officials said.
- On August 8, 2025, a Walker police officer shot a suspect with a knife outside the Dollar General store shortly before 7 p.m., striking him in the left arm.
- A Walker resident flagged down an officer at around 6:39 p.m. after reports of a suspect puncturing tires and carrying a knife on Minnesota Avenue.
- Inside the store, the suspect waved a knife at the cashier, allegedly threatened to kill all employees, sprayed bug spray, and threw items at the officer.
- Following the shooting, officers provided medical care and transported the suspect to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
- The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is leading the investigation, and the names of the officer and suspect will be released later, with multiple agencies assisting.
