Bosnia-Herzegovina Beat Wales on Penalties to Reach World Cup Playoff Final
Bosnia advanced to the World Cup playoff final by winning 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, with teenager Alajbegovic scoring the decisive kick.
On Thursday, Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Wales 4-2 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in Cardiff to reach the World Cup playoff finals.
Leeds United winger Daniel James put Wales ahead in the 51st minute, but Edin Dzeko equalized for Bosnia in the 86th minute to force extra time.
Despite Wales goalkeeper Karl Darlow saving Ermedin Demirovic's penalty, Brennan Johnson and Neco Williams missed their attempts, allowing Kerim Alajbegovic to seal the shootout win.
This defeat mirrors Wales' penalty exit against Poland two years ago, eliminating the team from the current World Cup qualifying campaign.
Bosnia will now face Italy next Tuesday in the Path A final, where the winner secures a World Cup qualification place.
